Our beloved Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra (the only musician-owned symphony orchestra in the USA) will be performing live. Tonight is the opening night of the season, with our much loved Carlos Miguel Prieto on the podium. They'll be playing

Copland: Fanfare for the Common Man
Beethoven: Violin Concerto in D major, Opus 61 - with Aubree Oliverson
Brahms: Symphony No. 2 in D major, Opus 73

The Orpheum is a beautiful venue with excellent acoustics. It was severely damaged by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, lay dormant for almost a decade before it was restored and reopened in 2015.
