I finally got my playlists from Primephonic with links to convert them to Apple playlists. Dozens of them! I'm so glad I have these playlists, because many of them are reflections of topics we tossed around on the Primephonic community forums. So many new musical avenues were opened to me through those forums. I'm sure the same will happen here.
Here's one of the playlists that was saved, called "Winding Down":

PS. I have no idea why my playlists are labelled "Johnny Appleseed". Any ideas?
Hello @capriccio
It's so good to see you've finally been able to retrieve your Primephonic playlists!
Can we deduce, then, that they're serious about their promises? They're working on their joint dedicated classical app? Let's hope so!
How did you get the link? I checked my email and the apple app, nothing there 🤔
P. S. Who's Mr. Apppleseed? 😂

@dinah, I'd sort of given up getting the playlist links, and then they appeared in my email yesterday, from Luka at Primephonic. One link for each playlist, so I had to click and add multiple times to get them all into Apple Music.
I don't know who Mr. Appleseed is nor why he has commandeered my playlists! And it appears that because these playlists have been "created by Apple" that I can't change their names. When I have time, I think I'll copy each playlist and add it to an un-Appleseeded list.
(no apple emoji so I went with Anjou the pear)
Anjou is perfect for the occasion.
I hope to give you some good news soon regarding my lists. Fingers crossed!
Johnny Appleseed? The mysteries of the the Apple takeover continue 😂
That’s fantastic news that you’ve got your playlists back, Rose!
I’ve heard nothing yet, Dinah, either, but I suppose they’re doing all of this by hand? And I agree, it’s encouraging that something of Primephonic still exists, and that they’re keeping to their promises.
Does Luka have a return email address? I wonder if there’s any chance they might be persuaded to send an email to all of the ex Primephonic community, letting them know about this web-site? Highly, highly unlikely, but how wonderful if they agreed?!?
Does Luka have a return email address?
Luka's email address is the same as Francesca's (she sent me a notification that the playlists would appear soon): support@primephonic.com.
So they're clearly monitoring that email address, even if the website contains nothing but a notification from Apple.
Do you think it's worth me writing to them and see if they can somehow pass word around about these forums? Apple should be delighted that we're trying to keep the sinking ship of Primephonic community bobbling along, ready for when they launch the new service (note the hopeful use of "when" and not "if").
In truth I’m not too hopeful (a few of us had previously asked if email addresses could be forwarded to other members of the community, to no avail, but perhaps that was some sort of a data protection issue?), but I think it’s worth a try.
There are a few people who were regular posters on the old forum who are unlikely to have access to facebook, or who just hadn’t found the facebook group - it would be wonderful to be able reach them.
I don't think the current transition "co-management" (if we can call it that!) of the Apple-Primephonic project would care about our efforts to
keep the sinking ship of Primephonic community bobbling along, ready for when they launch the new service (note the hopeful use of "when" and not "if").
I'm apprehensive they might even be hostile, or at least unamenable, towards this page.
I don’t think there’s any reason for them to be hostile. They have a pool of people here panting for beautifully streamed classical music. We’re their potential customers, not competitors or ripoffs. If they’re smart and actually want to create a good classical service, they’ll take note of what people like us say. (I know, very Pollyanna-ish of me, but I’ve gotta put it out there 😀 ).
And I carefully did not use “Primephonic” in the name of this website or the overall forums, so there’s no worries there.
If they’re smart and actually want to create a good classical service, they’ll take note of what people like us say.
I shall be particularly interested to see to what extent they implement the many suggestions for improvement that were contributed to the old Community.
